National Dislocated Worker Grants (DWGs)
DWGs are discretionary grants awarded by the Secretary of Labor under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to provide resources to states and other eligible applicants to respond to large, unexpected layoff events that cause significant job losses.
DWGs will temporarily expand the service capacity of dislocated worker training and employment programs at the state and local levels by providing funding. Funding is awarded to States, Workforce Development Boards (WDB) or other approved entities and then distributed as employment and training assistance to eligible participants. Read the full program guidance.
Find Workforce Development Boards in your area.
The Department of Labor announced new guidance outlining the flexibility that states have in administering their unemployment insurance (UI) programs to assist those affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. For more information regarding rules in your state, contact with your state’s unemployment insurance program.
